Just a tool...
There are many situations in which the archive can actively distort reality. Even massively fictitious thinking can motivate behaviors that are active in the real world. At best our vaunted attempt at "meta" is just one tool in a toolkit that is frequently used in favor of other tools. Once this kind of reasoning is removed from its pedestal as the only way to think, a host of alternatives become available.
